Worth Every Detour! We’re not from Chicago, but we love authentic Chicago food and Camponie’s Taste of Chicago is as real as it gets. We first found this place during an anniversary getaway, and it instantly became a must-stop for us. Even if it’s an hour out of our way or adds two extra hours to our trip we’ll make the stop. Every. Single. Time. The family that runs it is amazing. From the very first visit, they made us feel like regulars. Now it’s a whole routine: we sit down for a hot dog meal while we’re there, then bring home a family pack… or two… or three (no judgment, right?). If you’re anywhere nearby or even if you’re not make the drive. It’s totally worth it. Camponie’s is more than just a meal, it’s an experience we look forward to every time. Thanks for the extra ice!
